United Way Investment Process
United Way of Bartholomew County's funding process focuses on the outcome being
acheived in our community by programs in United Way's three focus areas - - - Education,
Financial Stability and Health. The emphasis on program outcomes is designed to
increase the impact of donors' contributions and the efficiency of United Way and its
community partners in advancing the common good in Bartholomew County.
The process includes two phases. The first is the Certification Process, which
includes a review of agency information and financials. The review is conducted
by the Agency Development Committee, Finance Review Committee and the
Volunteer Committee. Agencies that pass the Certification Process will be able
to apply for program funding.
The second is the Community Investment Grant. Program funding will be awarded
based on a program's relevance in United Way's three focus areas along with its ability
to show measurable results through outcomes and fiscal responsibility. The review
of program applications will be conducted by the Community Impact Review Team,
which are also made up of local community volunteers.
