The United Way of Bartholomew County hosted the first FEED the NEED event on August 11, 2012. Four previously unknown celebrity chefs - Mike Jamerson, Jerry Pennington, Travis Perry and Tracy Souza - participated in an Iron Chef-style cook-off to benefit local nonprofit organizations - Bartholomew Consolidated School Foundation, Foundation For Youth, Heritage Fund United Way Endowment and Tech Reconnect. The evening included cooking demonstrations, samples of prepared dishes, cash bar, chocolate desserts and a private showing of the Academy Award nominated film Chocolat at YES Cinema.
