It was my pleasure to meet one of Hope’s budding philanthropists last week at the United Way Campaign Kick-off at Hope’s town square.  Keegyn, a third grader in Mrs. Walker’s class at Hope Elementary School, was frequenting the United Way table where we were handing out free bubbles, stickers and goodies to the kids.  Keegyn disappeared for a few minutes.  When he reappeared he was out of breath and I asked him what he was up to.  As he pulled some change out of his pocket, placing it in the donation jar, Keegan explained that he ran home to get some money for a donation.  “I just couldn’t take your stuff without giving you something”, said Keegyn.  Giving was in the air in Hope last week and it was a thrill to be part of it.
