United Way of Bartholomew County and the Volunteer Action Center will join forces with local AmeriCorps members to participate in our Day of Service on January 18, 2010.
Join with us as we CLEAN UP AFTER THE FIRE at the United Way Center.
Come prepared with warm clothes, boots or work shoes, and work gloves.
You will be giving a helping hand to agencies as they clean out their offices destroyed by the fire, keeping some items and discarding others based on their condition.
Volunteers are to check in at the front (north) entrance of the United Way Center between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. When you arrive you will be assigned to an agency representative who will escort you in the Center. You will check in, sign a release form and receive a hard hat for safety. You will only be working in areas that have been cleared for clean up and that are safe. Please plan on spending a minimum of four hours in service.
Minimum age 10 and anyone under 18 must be accompanied by their parent or guardian.
Parking is available in the lot on the north side of the United Way Center. Please enter from 14th street as 13th street is restricted.
