Service Learning

As a nation, we are becoming more involved in volunteering to assist our communities.  Educational institutions are stepping up to the challenge by providing Service Learning opportunities to high school and college students in the area.  Most Service Learning projects involve a student to provide a specified number of hours of service to the community and then either write a paper about the project or provide an oral presentation to their peers.

The Volunteer Action Center has partnered with some of the schools in effectively finding opportunities for students to fulfill their Service Learning school requirements.  We can help find and develop an opportunity for students to serve the community through volunteer opportunities.  We have opportunities that can range from a one hour commitment to several hours a week.  What ever is your passion, we can assist in finding the right opportunities for you to share.
